Wedding Question: Destination Wedding #2

2nd DESTINATION WEDDING
this is both of ours 2nd wedding - due in part to friends ideas of what they want for our wedding, we are having a destination wedding with close family & few friends. I do not want a big elaborate wedding and all the headache surrounding it. However, since this is a destination wedding, I do have a dress, my son will escort me, my daughter is the bridesmaid with my other son as the groomsman, my uncle will perform the ceremony, with mine & his parents present - July 4th, at a lake, in the moonlight - since this is such a small wedding and later at night, would it be acceptable for no reception, but perhaps a next-day brunch at a restaurant? and should I send out "official" invitations?

WHAT WOULD APRIL DO?
Even for a second wedding, sending out some form of invitation would make sense.  I would suggest an informal invitation, possibly a postcard, that informs family members and friends of the day.  An rsvp is also not required as close family and friends would most likely arrive anyway.  The main part is to inform everyone of the brunch a day after, which is a great way to mingle without going full blast with a reception.

Weddings that happen a first time are usually major events.  The second time around can be more focused and do not require much of the things a first wedding would but that does not mean it cannot be as special.  Emphasize that personal relationship with close family and friends.  That is what counts.

PS. A double sided postcard is a great way to say many things on one item.
